WHAT WE TEACH
Hindustani Vocal
The human voice is the original instrument — and in the Hindustani tradition, it is capable of extraordinary expression. Students learn ragas, taalas, and the art of improvisation within a structured classical framework, rooted in the guru-shishya tradition.
Lessons cover sur (pitch), laya (rhythm), raga grammar, and compositions across classical, semi-classical, bhajan, and devotional styles.

Harmonium
The harmonium occupies a unique place in Indian classical music — both as an accompanying instrument and as a powerful solo voice. Students learn to play with sensitivity, musical understanding, and technical fluency alongside vocal training or as a standalone instrument.
Lessons cover scales, ragas, layakari, and accompaniment techniques suited to Hindustani classical and devotional music.

Deepak Dobhal
VOCALIST - HARMONIUM ARTIST - TEACHER
Deepak Dobhal is a Hindustani classical vocalist and harmonium artist. He performs across classical, semi-classical, Ghazal, and devotional traditions, and has composed original music.
As a teacher, Deepak works with students of all ages at Sur Taal Sangam. Music, in his view, has no age limit — and neither does the joy of learning it.
He has also directed musical performances of Sur Taal Sangam at the Consulate General of India, Princeton University, Saint Peter's university and Live music & Dance Concerts.
